The specialist nurse is responsible, with minimal supervision, for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of care provided for patients with haemophilia and inherited bleeding disorders. This may be face to face, virtual or by telephone and is mainly out-patient based, within OHTC, as well as providing outreach to in-patient care services across all OUH trust sites. To ensure a continuity of care there is also an expectation to support management of care episodes in other settings, such as district general hospitals and on occasion visiting patients in their own home.
