We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Indirect Tax Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing indirect tax compliance and advisory activities across the EMEA region. This role requires strong technical knowledge of indirect tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and local finance teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing indirect tax risks including filing accurate returns, managing enquiries and audits form local tax authorities, meeting filing deadlines.
2. Prepare and review indirect tax returns for multiple jurisdictions across the EMEA region.
3. Conduct GL account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting of indirect taxes.
4. Prepare detailed VAT packs to support the tax returns and ensure compliance with local regulations.
5. Manage the process of raising VAT payments and making VAT reclaims.
6. Liaise with local markets and finance functions to explain and agree on indirect tax returns.
7. Lead and develop a team of junior professionals to ensure timely and accurate production of tax returns.
8. Stay up to date with local regulatory changes and communicate their impact on indirect tax compliance.
9. Budget for indirect taxes and provide accurate forecasts for tax planning purposes.
10. Provide ad hoc indirect tax advisory support as supply chain changes occur, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax efficiency.
11. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient indirect tax processes, including order to cash and accounts payable.
12. Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
13. Familiarity with OneSource Indirect Tax software and SAP is preferred.
Qualifications and Skills:
14. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA) is highly desirable.
15. Extensive experience in indirect tax compliance and advisory, preferably within a multinational company or an accountancy practice.
16. Strong knowledge of EMEA indirect tax regulations and experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
17. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
18. Ability to effectively communicate complex tax matters to non-tax professionals and local finance teams.
19. Proven experience in managing and developing a team of tax professionals.
20. Up-to-date knowledge of local regulatory changes and their impact on indirect tax compliance.
21. Proficiency in using tax software and ERP systems. Familiarity with OneSource Indirect Tax software and SAP is a plus.
22. Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
23. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
