Our client is a well established multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy, and has a fantastic opening for a motivated Building Surveyor to join their Sevenoaks office (preferred) or London office. This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in high-rise buildings, fire remediation, structural appraisals, building safety cases, and property development. Ideal for someone eager to enhance their skills and knowledge, while contributing to cutting-edge projects in building safety and property consultancy. Skills, Knowledge, Understanding and Learning ■ To support colleagues by liaising closely with Clients, Residents, Contractors, Developers, Clerk of Works and other key stakeholders. ■ Develop an understanding of the requirements of the role of a Building Surveyor, completing works required by the Building Safety Act, using guidance from the regulator, with other internal and external project team members and in close collaboration with the Manager/Team Leader. ■ Experience of diagnostic and building pathology and reporting on residential, education and healthcare buildings. ■ Understand what the key outputs (deliverables) are within a project, to ensure the Client gets the information they need. ■ To understand and support the preparation of the key building information and information required to complete a building safety case and audit and compliance trackers and logs, using (after training) appropriate software. ■ Be recently qualified or work towards completing a relevant professional qualification - support will be provided. Main Duties ■ Assisting with the delivery of the building safety case works including completing building safety case reports. ■ Working for a small team, reporting directly to the Team Leader/Delivery Director. ■ Work on projects based in London and surrounding areas - valid UK driving licence is required. ■ Have a keen interest in developing a career path within the built environment and developing skills and knowledge consistent with the post of Building Surveyor. Procedures and Administration ■ Report writing and assisting in Contract Administration and Employer's Agent roles for high rise remediation works. ■ Understand and support the resident liaison process required to complete the works. ■ Develop the ability to take minutes in both internal and external meetings and understanding the context of discussion points. ■ Support and understand how different roles within the project team support the delivery of a project. ■ Assist with and understand the tender process and procurement of key consultants and contractors. The level of experience welcomed is Graduate to 2-3 years PQE. Please note: candidates must have experience in the UK construction industry
