We are seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Grays. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students, foster a love for literature, and help them develop essential reading, writing, and communication skills.
As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and structured lessons, supporting students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills. Working within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment, you will help students excel in English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with opportunities to contribute to A-Level teaching for the right candidate.
This role is ideal for an experienced educator or an ambitious teacher looking to develop their career in a progressive and inclusive school. While prior experience is preferred, professional development opportunities will be available.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
* Teach literary analysis, creative writing, grammar, and communication skills.
* Inspire students to develop a love for literature and strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level English examinations.
* Use creative and inclusive teaching strategies to engage learners of all abilities.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
* Promote positive behaviour management strategies to encourage student engagement.
* Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A strong knowledge of the English curriculum, including GCSE and A-Level standards.
* Experience in a secondary school setting is preferred.
* A passion for teaching literature and language in an engaging way.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
