What you’ll bedoing:
· Supportthe derivation and manage Product Safety requirements derived fromProduct Safety hazard and riskidentification · Work inaccordance with Project Safety ManagementPlans · Influencethe development of a safe design, the Project Safety Case includinglogical technical safety arguments and Safety Case justificationreports · Supporthazard identification meetings and the maintenance of the projecthazard log · Completepeer reviews, checking, verification and assurance tasks todemonstrate the adequacy and robustness of the Safety Case andsupportingdocumentation Your skills andexperiences: Essential:
· Understanding of engineering safety managementprocesses, such as hazard analysis, logical safety arguments andsafety case report
· Reasonableunderstanding of safety within systems engineering – includingestablishment of good engineering requirements and how they will bedelivered through engineeringprocesses
· Understanding of ALARP principles and applicationof processes Desirable:
· Systemsengineering Tools and techniques – (e.g. DOORS, EnterpriseArchitect)

The SSNA Combat SystemTeam: As a Principal Engineer you will provide support tothe Engineering Delivery Manager in the development, delivery andmaintenance of the Project Product Safety Management System andProduct Safety Case to ensure Products are safe to own and legal tooperate. You will join a growing team of about 50 engineersand will work collaboratively since the early stage of a majordevelopment programme. This will provide you with the opportunityto influence the progress of different projects within the SSNACombat System programme and to develop your career within BAESystems.
