We have a fantastic opportunity for a Domestic Assistant to join our team based at New Bradley Hall. You will join us on a part-time, permanent contract basis in return for a competitive salary of £11.58 per hour. Please note, this salary will increase from 01/04/2025.
The successful applicant will work a 2-week rota, including some split shifts as follows:
Week 1
Mon 8:00 - 15:00, Fri 08:00 - 15:00, Sat - 08:00 - 13:00 & 18:00 - 21:00, Sun - 08:00 - 13:00 & 18:00 - 21:00 = 30 hrs
Week 2
Mon - 08:00 - 15:00, Tues - 18:00 - 21:00, Wed - 18:00 - 21:00, Thurs - 08:00 - 15:00, Fri 18:00 - 21:00 = 23 hours

New Bradley Hall is a purpose-built, dementia-friendly home, offering the highest quality of residential care in a stylish and homely environment. The home provides 66 en-suite rooms across three floors, all furnished to the highest standard. There are a range of lounges and quiet rooms, so that individuals are able to enjoy a varied lifestyle. Within the home, there is also a purpose-built cinema room, on-site hairdressing facilities, and a café area. Our aim is to provide the right care, tailored to meet residents’ individual needs and preferences. We want to support residents to maximise their independence.
The main purpose of the role is to provide bed-making and domestic duties with care and respect, upholding residents’ dignity and choices.
Specific tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:
* To undertake bed making with the help of the residents, if they are capable, and if they are not, to do the task for them.
* To tidy residents’ rooms.
* To collect dirty laundry.
* To ensure that linen etc. is stored neatly and correctly.
* To ensure all equipment used is in full, safe working order.
* To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act, to ensure a safe and efficient laundry service in the home.
* There is also a genuine occupational requirement to be physically able to undertake medium/heavy lifting.
Skills and Experience required if you want to become our Domestic Assistant:
The ideal candidate will have experience in providing a domestic or cleaning service, knowledge of care and safeguarding procedures, and an understanding of individual needs of the elderly. The post holder will also need to be able to use and maintain essential cleaning equipment.
* Must be able to work bank holidays and weekends.
* The post holder will be subject to a DBS disclosure check and a six-month probation period.
