Job Description
Raymarine UK Ltd are looking for an experienced Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join a highly skilled hardware team designing an exciting range of Raymarine products.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
1. As a senior member of the team, it would be expected that you guide and assist junior engineers.
2. Collaborate with other teams across the business (Mechanical/PCB/Software) to create the right solutions.
3. Design and verification of electronic circuits.
4. Testing and debugging of PCB’s.
5. Design and development of test fixtures.
6. Component sourcing and procurement specification.
7. Schematic / documentation control.
8. Participate and prepare hardware technical specifications.
9. Maintain an awareness for tools and technologies and recommend when necessary.
10. Ensure all designs are compliant with ISO9000 policy documents.
11. Test plan generation.
12. Liaise with production to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture and test.
Job Qualifications:
1. Significant experience with system design.
2. Analogue electronics experience: Bipolar transistor and FET design, Operational amplifiers, Analogue to digital conversion, Digital to analogue conversion.
3. Power Supply topology and design experience.
4. Digital electronics: Microprocessor design, CMOS logic design, PAL/EPLD design, DRAM, FLASH, EEPROM and PROM.
5. RF design techniques (advantageous but not essential).
6. Understanding of RADAR, Sonar and/or camera systems (is advantageous).
7. Basic knowledge and understanding of embedded software design (C and Assembler).
8. A good working knowledge and understanding of EMC and appropriate design.
9. Use of schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
10. PCB layout and good practice.
11. SM technologies and production/test processes.
12. Should be proficient in the use of a PC and be able to use Windows (Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc).
