Applications are invited for the above post in the Property Management and Vehicle Recovery Team, Joint Criminal Justice Services.
The successful applicant will administer and ensure the smooth running of the collaborated vehicle recovery scheme and will manage the post recovery process, storage and disposal of vehicles and other items which come into the scheme through selected Vehicle Recovery Operators based in Suffolk and Norfolk.
The role also provides a specific point of contact for all queries from Police Officers and staff, members of the public, Recovery Operators, other forces and external agencies.
As a successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with an ability to remain assertive and maintain a professional approach at all times. You will be required to analyse facts and legislation to be able to provide informed advice therefore you should be able to demonstrate an ability to understand procedures in relation to vehicle recovery and associated legislation. The service is supported by an electronic recovery database and there is a requirement to access police information systems in order to manage the service therefore you must also possess keyboard skills with experience of using police systems.
It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to be assertive whilst retaining a clear, professional approach with the public and staff at all levels
2. Experience of dealing with cash and receipts with the ability to produce financial statistics as required
3. Proven ability to effectively organise workloads and tasks to meet deadlines
4. Ability to travel within Norfolk and Suffolk and outside if required
5. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of police and criminal justice procedures in relation to vehicles seized as a result of crime
6. Basic keyboard skills and previous experience of using computer systems, in particular the Microsoft Office suite of programmes
It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:
1. An understanding of vehicle recovery techniques
2. Experience of working with a contracted managed service and vehicle recovery operators
The hours offered are 18.5 to be worked Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday.
