We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated Learning Support Assistant – English, Term time only. The information below provides more detail about the role.

Duties:
* To assist students to take a full part in learning activities on equal terms with other students in lessons.
* To support students with their identified provision in line with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* To support the students in their physical needs, mobility and health and safety as appropriate. Training will be provided where appropriate.
* To work with course lecturers to ensure the students are successfully included in to the college environment.
* To become familiar with the use of specialist equipment for the benefit of the student. Training will be provided where appropriate.
* To differentiate appropriate learning material to support individual student provision and requirements.
* To regularly update individual learning plans in line with EHCP’s and SEN needs.
* To contribute to, and attend annual reviews as primary LSAs for the students within their cohort.
* Attend English and Maths Department team meetings and relevant training.
Skills/experience:
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and the willingness to learn college IT systems.
* Excellent administrative capabilities, i.e., accurate record keeping.
* Knowledge and understanding of disability/sensory impairment is less important than a willingness to learn.
Qualifications:
* Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or equivalent).
* Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent desirable.
