Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including hospice care, senior care, and childcare. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to assist with daily living activities while ensuring the dignity and well-being of those we serve.
Responsibilities
1. Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
3. Support clients in their daily activities, promoting independence and quality of life.
4. Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure a safe environment.
5. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
6. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and therapists, to deliver comprehensive care.
8. Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience in hospice care, senior care, or childcare is preferred.
2. Knowledge of patient care practices and behaviour management techniques is advantageous.
3. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
4. Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients as needed.
5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
6. A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support services.
7. Relevant qualifications in health or social care would be beneficial but are not essential.
