The Vacancy

North Lincolnshire Council is seeking to recruit a community-spirited individual to provide a school crossing service to children and their parents/guardians.
Applicants should have a good understanding of road use and traffic awareness. You will need to use your judgement of speed and distance to know when it is safe to stop traffic and allow pedestrians to cross the road. Good verbal communication skills are essential.
The presence of a School Crossing Patrol encourages parents and children to walk to school, giving environmental and health benefits while improving safety on the site.
Duty times cover the period before school opens in the morning and the period after the school closes in the afternoon. The times on patrol are:
1. Morning - 8.15am to 9.00am
2. Afternoon - 3.10pm to 3.40pm
Please see the attached job description and employee specification which you should refer to when completing your application to demonstrate you meet the essential criteria for the role.
Please contact Dave Wilson on 07717 587463 for further information.
As an employer, we promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expect the same commitment from existing and prospective employees or volunteers. Recruitment to this post will follow our safer recruitment procedure which includes us requesting references prior to interview and a DBS check.
