This logistics company provides logistics services including road and rail transport, warehousing, and terminal management across Scotland and has been established for a number of years, working with some very prestigious clients in the industry. The Company provides integrated third-party logistics solutions including bonded and non-bonded warehousing and supply chain management to a number of blue-chip customers across Scotland and England.
Your new role
The Company is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and competent Transport Administrator at their customer site in Dumbarton. This role requires continual liaising with our customer’s production staff and our traffic personnel to ensure despatches are carried out as timely and efficiently as possible. The ideal candidate will have experience of traffic and/or warehousing operations, demonstrate effective organisational abilities, a keen eye for detail, accuracy, and clear communication skills. This will be a stand-alone position on our customer site. The working hours are Monday–Thursday 0600–1430 and Friday 0600-1300.
What you'll need to succeed
Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word, is essential, and experience working with transport systems such as Roadrunner will prove beneficial, but training for such shall be provided. Key responsibilities will include planning and execution of despatch operations, answering telephone/customer queries, liaising with drivers and other traffic departments, plus general administrative duties.
