Family Support Worker
JOB SUMMARY
To provide a flexible support service to families with children in need in keeping with the assessed Care Plan and this will include some evening/weekend work.

Pay Rates: Up to £15.96 per hour Umbrella or £14.41 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To assist Social Workers in assessing the needs of children, young people and families in accordance with Legislation, Policy and Procedure.
2. To assist Social Workers in the implementation of Child Care Plans.
3. To undertake direct work with children and young people.
4. To facilitate supervised Family Time / contact arrangements. This will include driving duties.
5. To support parents, children and young people in developing confidence and self-esteem.
6. To contribute to parenting programmes (individual and group work).
7. To maintain individual caseloads and provide reports and information as required including giving evidence in Court.
8. To maintain appropriate records.
9. To participate in supervision, peer support groups and appropriate training and developments.
10. To participate in Team Meetings and contribute to the development of the Team.
11. To liaise with other agencies in multi-disciplinary work appropriate to individual cases.
12. To highlight concerns/untoward events regarding children and young people in keeping with Trust Policies and Procedures.
13. To act in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures in all matters.
14. To maintain a high degree of confidentiality/discretion.
Further experience working with parents/ children in a formal paid setting
Skills and Experience
1. Currently hold or be eligible for immediate registration with the NISCC on the Social Care part of the register.
2. Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
3. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
4. Ability to use own initiative.
5. Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to meet the needs of the post in full which will include the writing / compilation of reports.
7. Demonstrate an aptitude.
8. Awareness of Trust Policies.
9. Awareness of Child development.
10. Awareness of safety/risk factors.
