GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join a school in Wimborne.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting students with their emotional well-being, promoting positive mental health, and encouraging engagement in education. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them develop coping strategies and build resilience in a supportive learning environment.
Mental Health Support Worker Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and group support to students struggling with mental health challenges.
* Assist in implementing personalised emotional support plans to help students manage anxiety, stress, and other difficulties.
* Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to create a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
* Encourage students to engage in learning by offering reassurance, motivation, and guidance.
* Support students in developing social skills, self-confidence, and emotional resilience.
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to relevant staff and professionals.
* Promote a safe and positive atmosphere where students feel comfortable expressing their emotions.
* Collaborate with professionals when necessary to provide the best support.
What we need from a Mental Health Support Worker:
* A background in psychology, counselling, or a related field is beneficial.
* Previous experience working in a mental health, educational, or care setting as a Mental Health Support Worker is desirable.
* A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.

* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
* Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
