We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Site Maintenance Team to work at Moon Hall School, Reigate. The candidate will be working as part of the Premises and Operations Team, supporting the team with in-house repairs and improvements as well as supporting and contributing to the health and safety and security of the school sites. The post holder will work as part of a team as well as independently to ensure the school buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard as well as keeping the school secure.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
General
1. Routine and emergency site repairs, maintenance and refurbishments;
2. Completion of routine planned preventive maintenance checks;
3. Routine health and safety and compliance checks;
4. Porterage;
5. Ad-Hoc cleaning;
6. General caretaking duties;
7. Carrying out day to day maintenance and repairs including decorating during school holidays;
8. Communicate effectively with staff and external contractors;
9. Manual handling.
Grounds
1. Grounds Maintenance
2. Mowing, strimming, weeding and blowing;
3. Empty outside bins;
4. Sweeping and gritting;
Events and Lettings
1. Supporting in the setting up and taking down of all school events and third-party hire.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
* Full UK Driving Licence;
* Strong enthusiasm and enjoyment for practical work;
* An understanding of or be willing to learn practical skills;
* An understanding of or be willing to learn how to fix basic plumbing issues;
* Willing to carry out general maintenance and decorating tasks;
* Willing to use a lawnmower and hedge cutter;
* Willingness to undertake health and Safety/Compliance training to carry out checks;
* Knowledge of health and safety and hygiene procedures and precautions;
* Awareness of COSHH regulations;
* Have a personal commitment to doing work to a high standard;
* Demonstrate high levels of initiative and commitment and have lots of energy;
* Have the ability to form excellent working relationships with colleagues;
* Be flexible and adaptable;
* Have integrity, a great sense of humour and be fun to work with;
* Be willing and flexible with working hours;
* Demonstrate some competence in the use of ICT.

The post holder will be expected to co-operate with management in pursuance of the Trust's health and safety policies and procedures and will be required to complete all necessary and instructed training.
