The Healthcare Evaluation Data (HED) team within the Health Informatics Department is looking for a skilled Data Science Analyst to join our talented team.
You will play a key role in the provision and support of our online analytics platform, HED. This will include the design, development, implementation, support, and maintenance of HED Systems.
You will work to empower end-users as you create bespoke analytical reports, respond to technical product queries, and develop standardised healthcare indicators.

Main duties of the job
In your role as a Data Science Analyst in the HED team, you'll get to:
1. Apply your knowledge in MS SQL Server related products and Tibco Spotfire to deliver flexible solutions and respond to technical queries.
2. Work with national datasets to create healthcare benchmarking indicators and analytical reports that provide insight to our diverse user-base.
3. Develop new skills and work within a close-knit, enthusiastic, and highly effective team with a strong ethos of personal development.
4. Empower clinical and non-clinical end-users across the NHS with the provision of intelligence allowing for evidence-based health service management.
This post would be ideally suited to a skilled analyst with a keen understanding of the practical application of HED products across a range of end-user scenarios. The post holder will be responsible for building and maintaining analytical products to ensure the Trust can meet existing and new national and local requirements for HED Systems.
Shortlisted applicants will first be invited to a technical competency test (to be invigilated remotely via MS Teams) with the best-performing candidates being invited back for a full interview.
The role is based at Yardley Court, Edgbaston & working from home.

Qualifications
* Minimum grade C/4 GCSE English and Maths.
* Degree level or equivalent knowledge and skills in a numerate discipline.
* Post graduate level qualification or comparable equivalent experience in a numerate/analytical discipline.
* Evidence of further professional development.
Experience
* Experience with database software and applications.
* Familiar with database concepts.
* Experience in providing user support.
* Experience of and confidence in interacting with senior members of an organisation.
* Experience of Microsoft BI tools including SQL Server Analysis Services, Integration Services, & Reporting Services.
* Experience of complex analysis, including the ability to interpret and provide recommendations for improvements and deliver work to implement recommendations.
* Experience of web-related technologies and the development of web-based reports.
* Experience of producing automated reports.
* Knowledge of dimensional data modelling methodologies & relational database design.
