We are looking for someone who will be fundamental in meeting the Legal Team’s vision, which is to support the Council in acting lawfully and with high standards of governance to achieve its corporate objectives for the local community. In this role, you will support stakeholders by providing specialist legal advice, representation, and assistance across a range of planning, property, and procurement matters. We are excited about this role and would very much like to welcome you to Broxtowe Borough Council.
Experience Required
We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:
* Planning law (drafting planning enforcement notices, providing planning advice, certificate of lawfulness, attending planning committees once a month).
* Commercial property matters such as acquisitions, sales, and commercial leases.
* Local government experience is desirable, but we welcome applications from people from all parts of the legal sector.
* A qualified Solicitor/Barrister/FILEX with a current Practising Certificate.

Additional Information
A requirement for this role is to attend the Council’s Planning Committee meeting each month. Successfully shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend a formal interview which may include a test/scenario/exercise to determine suitability for the role.
