Salary: £27,000 Contract - Permanent, Full time - Monday to Friday What we are looking for? We are looking for an experienced assistant buyer who supports the Procurement Team by assisting in sourcing materials and services for projects. This role involves managing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring deliveries, and resolving issues to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement. The Assistant Buyer helps ensure projects run smoothly, are delivered on time, and meet quality and budget requirements. Key Responsibilities: Input purchase order requests into the system with suppliers. Build and maintain productive, win-win relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective purchasing. Monitor the progress of material deliveries, identify any issues, and work to resolve them to ensure timely project completion. Work closely with the Accounts team to resolve any invoice-related queries. Keep up-to-date with product development, pricing, availability, and alternatives, ensuring that the team is informed of the latest information. Contribute to meetings with colleagues, contractors, and customers to ensure a smooth flow of project information and requirements. Provide high-quality administrative support to the procurement team, ensuring smooth operational processes. Handle general administration duties including photocopying, printing, filing, and data management. Skills & Experience : A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships. Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve problems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
