Job Title: Director of Security
Salary: Up to £200k total comp
Location: Remote. Occasional travel within the UK
About the Role:
Our company's products support citizens across the globe, and we are seeking a Director of Security to lead the teams responsible for safeguarding our organization.
As Director of Security, you will be a technology leader tasked with ensuring the security of our technology estate, products, and personnel. Security is a collective responsibility, and your teams will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our colleagues are equipped to develop secure products and platforms. You will oversee the implementation of the right people, processes, and tools to proactively defend our organization. In the event of cyberattacks, your teams will be poised to respond effectively.
We are looking for a pragmatic, compassionate, and influential leader capable of building and fostering a team capable of realizing your vision. Your ability to provide clarity to your teams and stakeholders in a dynamic and uncertain environment will be crucial.
What you will be doing:
1. Building and managing a well-balanced and efficient security organization in collaboration with stakeholders across various business functions such as product, development, and infrastructure.
2. Leveraging your expertise in modern cybersecurity to facilitate secure product development and architecture practices throughout the organization.
3. Developing and owning the security roadmap, and devising a clear strategy to achieve your objectives.
4. Making informed decisions based on data, and presenting compelling data-driven arguments to secure support and investment for your initiatives.
5. Cultivating strong relationships with leaders in product, engineering, and compliance domains to ensure optimal outcomes.
We’d like you to have experience with:
6. Leading multiple security teams in a large global organization, spanning multiple regions and time zones (UK, India, APAC, and AMER).
7. Successfully executing critical technical programs within challenging technical environments.
8. Collaborating with leaders and engineers to establish alignment across large technology organizations.
9. Overseeing teams supporting modern software development organizations, including implementing "security as a service" and ensuring an effective Software Security Development Life Cycle (SSDLC).
10. Proficiency in cyber risk quantification, incident response, and contingency planning.
11. Managing stakeholders at various levels of seniority within the organization.
12. Providing coaching and mentorship to senior managers.
