Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Senior Associate specialising in Audit to join a prestigious private practice firm in Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled accounting professional to contribute to the firm's growth and provide audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent client management skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Audit Planning and Execution: Lead and execute audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and timely delivery of audit assignments.
2. Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships. Provide guidance and insights to help clients navigate complex financial and reporting matters.
3. Technical Expertise: Perform detailed financial reporting, risk assessments, and compliance audits that adhere to current regulatory frameworks and industry best practices. Proficiently use audit tools and ERP systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
4. Team Leadership: Oversee the work of junior associates, offering mentorship, training, and technical advice to ensure professional growth and development within the team.
5. Project Management: Manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously, adhering to tight deadlines and prioritising competing demands.
6. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance audit processes using technology, data analytics, and AI platforms. Stay abreast of emerging trends and regulatory changes in the audit and accounting industry.
Key Qualifications:
1. ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
2. Significant experience in external audit within private practice, preferably at a senior level.
3. Proficiency in advanced ERP software and data analysis tools.
4. Strong knowledge of Scottish and UK audit regulations, financial reporting standards, and compliance frameworks.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly to clients.
6. Proven ability to lead, train, and influence teams.
Preferred Skills:
1. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with AI platforms for audit processes.
2. Experience in financial reporting for a wide range of industries.
3. A passion for innovation in audit, including the use of AI tools to streamline processes and mitigate risks.
