We have a highly rewarding opportunity for a seasoned residential care practitioner or senior support worker with team leader experience looking to make a genuine impact on a young person's journey.
If you are passionate and enjoy seeing the direct impact your experience and knowledge can bring to a young person, then this opportunity is worth exploring. Working with the local authority to support the delivery of care to a young person, you will have a varied week. Whether it is engaging the support workers to identify activities and interests of the young person or ensuring that all elements of the care management plan are being implemented, no two days will be the same.
An overview of responsibilities includes:
* Taking direction and guidance from key stakeholders in relation to all aspects of the care of the individual, checking and assessing the implementation alongside social workers and team managers from the local authority.
* Providing all necessary paperwork and reporting to the confirmed contact/s at the local authority.
* Being aware and supportive of suicidal tendencies and self-harming, and being able to support if needed.
* Being prepared to use de-escalation techniques at times of heightened behaviours.
* Providing emotional support to the vulnerable young person in your care.
* Being understanding of traumas suffered and helping the young person to thrive in the current setting.
* Ensuring all policies and procedures set by the council in times of crisis are followed.

If you are a support worker with solid experience working with children and young people and would like to be part of something similar, we have opportunities for you securing day rates of £16 per hour, waking night rates of £18 per hour, and sleep-in rates of £63.
