We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a positive attitude, excellent organisational capacity and effective communication skills to support apprentices, officers and staff within our organisation.
About the role
As our Functional Skills Coach/Coordinator you will support and oversee the progress of our apprentices who are working towards their Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English with an external provider. You will need to ensure their learning is on track to achieve their qualifications in a timely way.
Support in basic skills is also required for all staff within the organisation, and you will be required to provide tuition in these areas in the wider Force.
The role holder will be expected to manage their own time, be proactive in following up progress, and organise their own teaching load. The role may require some evening working.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience of delivering Functional Skills to adults in the workplace, excellent subject knowledge in Maths and English, and knowledge of the apprenticeship requirements.
Communication skills are key to the role as you will need to work with a wide range of stakeholders including internal staff and external agencies.
A teaching qualification is required for this role (for example; Cert ED, QTS, Qualification in Education and Training Level 4). We also require the post holder to hold Maths and English qualifications at Level 2; however, Level 3 is desirable.
There is a requirement to travel to various locations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, so you must have the ability to travel as necessary.
