Reporting directly to the Chairman and Board of Directors, this is a standalone role where you’ll be empowered to make strategic decisions and lead high-stakes events that make a real impact. Key Responsibilities • Lead & Deliver High-Profile Events: Oversee community events including the Annual Business Awards, Car Shows, Christmas Lights, Farmers Markets, and so much more. Your innovative ideas will bring these to life and ensure they meet the needs of our businesses and local community. • Creative Vision & Event Planning: Take the reins in developing new events and rejuvenating existing ones, making sure they stay fresh, exciting, and aligned with business objectives. • Collaborate & Connect: Work closely with external digital marketing consultants and social media teams to ensure events are promoted with flair and impact. Build strong relationships with local businesses, vendors, and suppliers. • Budgeting & Funding: Manage event budgets effectively while securing sponsorships and additional funding opportunities. You’ll be expected to find creative ways to deliver maximum value without compromising quality. • Champion the Local Community: Act as an ambassador for the organisation at events and networking opportunities, fostering partnerships that further benefit the town and local businesses. • Strategic Leadership: Support the delivery of the Re-BID campaign in 2026 alongside the Board and appointed consultants. Bring your strategic vision and leadership skills to the table. • Reporting & Data: Regularly present event data and progress to the Board, showing the value and impact of your initiatives. Experience & Skills • Event Management Expertise: You have a proven track record in planning, executing, and managing large-scale events from concept to completion, with an eye for detail and exceptional organisational skills. • Project Management: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once and delivering on time and within budget. Your time management skills are second to none. • Creative & Proactive: A natural problem-solver who is not afraid to think outside the box. You bring fresh ideas and energy to every event you touch. • Excellent Communicator: Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and nurture relationships across diverse stakeholders. • Flexible & Dynamic: You have a flexible mindset when it comes to working hours and location, understanding that events often happen outside the 9-5.
