Role: Registered General Nurse
Salary range: £40,000 to £47,000 (dependent on experience). Weekend and evening enhancements and performance related bonus available.
Hours: Part time and full time positions available (to cover 7 day week Monday to Sunday to include evenings).
Job summary
We are looking for an experienced qualified registered general nurse to provide high quality professional care to our clients attending GHS private clinics. This role involves assessment, treatment and the provision of care across a wide range of health conditions encompassing physical health conditions, mental health illness and chronic diseases. This role is based in the GHS private clinical facility in Cheltenham in addition to providing online consultations. The post holder will report to the GHS Clinics Registered Manager.
Duties
Patient care and assessment:
* Evaluate and record a patient's health status including taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and physical examination (height, weight, BMI).
* Capture and record a patient's medical history including past illnesses, hospitalisation, surgeries, allergies, immunisation, medications and lifestyle factors to support effective care co-ordination.
* Create and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with the patient and multidisciplinary team to support effective care co-ordination.
* Monitor and record patient’s progress, observing responses to treatment and interventions and any changes in health condition.
* Refine and adapt personalised plans in collaboration with the client and the multi-disciplinary health and care team in response to changes in health condition.
* Provide expert practical and evidence-based advice and education to support the patient and their family across aspects of health and lifestyle, providing emotional support and reassurance.
Medication and treatment:
* Responsibility for the correct administration of prescribed medication in line with the care plan and the organisational medicines management policy.
* Dispense and monitor medications as prescribed ensuring patients understand instructions for safe use and are aware of side effects.
* Perform medical procedures including drawing blood, wound care, administering injections.
Communication and collaboration:
* Liaise effectively and consistently with the multidisciplinary team to ensure co-ordinated patient care.
* Maintain detailed, timely and accurate patient documentation including assessment records, care plans and interventions.
* Act as the patient’s advocate, representing and communicating their needs and concerns to the multidisciplinary team.
Planning and organisation:
* Responsibility for organising a daily clinical caseload.
* Triage and prioritise referrals in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
* Plan and deliver care with the multi-disciplinary team, taking responsibility for care reviews.
Management, leadership and professional development:
* Provide support and guidance to other nurses and administration staff within the service where appropriate.
* Assist in the induction of new team members.
* Maintain own continuing professional development (CPD).
