The Role:
This role is a unique opportunity to support our diverse international community at Culford. The IL department serves pupils from over twenty countries, some attending for one year to experience life at a British boarding school and improve their English, while others stay longer to complete GCSEs and A-levels. EAL classes are small, allowing flexible, tailored instruction, with one-to-one support available as needed. Year 9 and 10 pupils typically take Cambridge English exams, Year 11 pupils take IGCSE English as a second or first language, and Sixth Form pupils prepare for IELTS to achieve university-required scores by Year 12.
We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Director of International Learning to lead our Senior department, collaborate with the Prep School department and strategically develop additional induction, curricular support, co-curricular, and pastoral programmes.
