The Role:
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of production machinery. Reporting to the Engineering Leadership team, you will collaborate with a dedicated shift team to minimize downtime and enhance operational processes. Your problem-solving skills and drive for continuous improvement will be key to maintaining the companys high production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Planned and Reactive Maintenance:Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive maintenance needs to maintain machinery efficiency.
Team Collaboration:Work collaboratively within a flexible, supportive shift team to enhance processes, product quality, and performance.
Fault Diagnosis and Resolution:Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults, coordinating with other teams to manage major breakdowns effectively.
Incident Management:Lead the resolution of significant breakdowns or technical challenges.
Continuous Improvement:Contribute to engineering projects and drive initiatives to improve safety, productivity, and quality.
Cost Management:Manage resources, materials, budgets, and related costs within the engineering department.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in multi-skilled maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) experience is highly desirable.
Relevant qualifications such as HNC, City & Guilds, or a time-served apprenticeship.
Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and process enhancement.
Benefits and Package:
Salary:£40,000 - £45,000 per annum, based on experience.
Shift Pattern:Flexible double-day shift pattern with a 42-hour workweek.
On-Call Compensation:£100 per week on-call (one week every three weeks), with time off in lieu for any call-outs (in addition to salary).
Holidays:20 days annual leave + Bank Holidays.
Pension:Government pension scheme.
