The Role: Project Manager - M&G Life
Location: Reading, London or Stirling
Reporting to the Senior Project Delivery Lead, the Project Manager role will be responsible for supporting key business stakeholders to deliver on their objectives. Working closely with Corporate Risk Solutions business teams, you will have end-to-end responsibility to ensure outcomes are delivered within the agreed parameters, including coordination with teams across the wider M&G plc firm (such as Finance, Investments, IT & Risk) and external service providers.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance business and change controls.
* Take end-to-end responsibility for the delivery of projects or linked business events, ensuring clear agreement on the required outcomes.
* Shape the project/business event to drive optimum delivery of outcomes, including planning appropriate to the complexity of the underlying business need.
* Establish and coordinate change activities across CRS, engaging and monitoring all 3rd party deliveries and dependencies.
* Be the point of escalation and contact to assist with resolution of significant issues and risks.
* Ensure alignment to the M&G plc Change Handbook methodology and guidelines.
* Monitor and review all project delivery and economics, including deliverable production, costs, staffing requirements, and resources.
* Ensure appropriate and effective communication, monitoring, quality assurance, and governance arrangements are in place.
* Articulate and manage the overall risk exposure, driving a common understanding amongst stakeholders.
* Manage stakeholders and ensure direction, scope, and progress of related activities are understood and transparent.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Solid expertise of project methodologies, planning processes, and change management techniques.
* Solid expertise of risk management principles and ability to manage their impacts on projects.
* Experience of working in fast-paced agile and flexible environments.
* Experience of managing and working in cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
* Experience of monitoring and reporting in a project environment.
* Experience of successful delivery through a full waterfall project lifecycle.
* Experience of managing a multi-disciplined team and complex delivery structures.
* Experience of managing stakeholders across a range of business areas and different levels of complexity and seniority.
* Experience of project governance and producing quality project documentation.
* Highly desirable: Working knowledge of life and pensions products, markets, and competitors.
* Highly desirable: Working knowledge of financial services regulation and legislation frameworks.
* Highly desirable: Understanding of Corporate Pensions and the Bulk Purchase Annuity market.
