Your Responsibilities
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, your duties will include:
1. Responsibility for providing and maintaining service excellence to customers, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy at a high level.
2. Ensuring all work in the laboratory is carried out in compliance with Health and Safety policies, ISO13485, ISO17025, EUGMP, accreditation requirements, internal procedures, and in conjunction with the Senior Technicians and under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor/Management team.
3. Maintaining accurate and sufficiently detailed records of all quality tests performed and upholding relevant quality standards as set out in the controlled laboratory and QA procedures.
4. Assisting in the day-to-day organization of work in the microbiology unit to meet departmental and customer needs.
5. Cleaning and washing laboratory glassware, preparation, and sterilization of laboratory media.
6. Performing microbiological techniques on customer products and other samples, including microbiological identifications, culture preparation and maintenance, LAL Endotoxin testing, bioburden, environmental monitoring, biological indicator testing, product inoculations, and sterility testing.
7. Operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment including autoclaves, water generation systems, balances, heating mantles, incubators, and more.
8. Organizing the environmental monitoring program and checking the environmental conditions within the laboratory.
9. Cleaning general laboratory areas, test rooms, and cleanrooms.
10. Disposing of lab waste generated in carrying out duties.
11. Dealing with all customer inquiries/complaints in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
12. Responsible for stock control in conjunction with other laboratory staff in a proactive manner.
13. Acting as a designated trainer for the laboratory.
14. Initiating, investigating, controlling, and analyzing non-conformance reports, ensuring all relevant parties are informed.
15. Assisting in the management of work instructions, methods, and procedures.
16. Assisting in the validation of laboratory equipment and producing relevant reports.
17. Ensuring the laboratory is maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
18. Attending relevant courses and undergoing training as required.
19. Familiarizing oneself with the microbiological work carried out in the laboratory.
20. Undertaking any other duties as may become necessary in the provision of the quality assured service.
Required Experience
Sound knowledge of general microbiology techniques and EUGMP is essential. A Senior Technician position requires a minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience or otherwise deemed competent by the management team. A degree in a science-based subject is preferred. Trainer representatives are required to have completed a 'Train the Trainer' course.
