Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced IT SACM Operations Lead to spearhead the development of the Service Asset and Configuration Management function, including HAM and SAM across the UK & Europe to support the 10K Serco employees across our business, meeting the needs and expectations of Serco’s expanding business, through growth, diversification and acquisition. The role involves planning, managing and maturing a new ITAM and SACM capability for the digital and technology estate for Serco, including the design, delivery and operation of both standard and non-standard IT asset management services. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective processes and practices that ensure the accurate and up-to-date configuration of all assets and services, enabling efficient and reliable service delivery. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to contribute to the overall success of our IT Service Management (ITSM) initiatives. As part of this you’ll: Develop and implement a SACM strategy aligned with organisational objectives Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into SACM processes Lead and mentor a team of SACM professionals, providing guidance and support Work closely with the procurement and commercial teams to optimise spend and reduce wastage Design, implement and continuously improve SACM processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency Identify and address process bottlenecks to enhance overall service delivery Oversee the identification, control and status accounting of configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle Conduct regular audits of the CMDB to verify the accuracy of configuration data Develop and maintain relevant metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for SACM What you’ll need to do the role: Proven experience in Service Asset and Configuration Management Strong knowledge of ITIL framework and practices Leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement Experience with ITSM tools and CMDB solutions is desirable Familiarity with automation tools for configuration management Project management skills Senior Management experience across Digital Operations, strong commercial acumen as well as a strong understanding of transformation practices and continually evolving and changing organisations Why Serco: Meaningful and vital work: In this position, your work is vital to the business, in terms of decisions and growth.
