Governors are seeking to appoint a confident, supportive Health & Well-being Officer who will enjoy being part of a collaborative and dedicated team that work with integrity together. You will join a busy team of Pastoral staff to manage and develop the school’s medical and well-being service for pupils. The role requires liaison with a range of people, including families, pupils, staff (in particular pastoral colleagues and the safeguarding team) and external agencies. You will be a confident first aider and a great communicator, who is passionate about supporting our children’s medical and well-being needs. This is a varied and interesting role, which is crucial within our school.
The successful candidate will:
o Be willing to work hard, be kind and make a difference
o Have GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent
o Have relevant medical and/or up-to-date first aid certificate, with previous experience in a medical environment
o Deal with medical or first aid emergencies on site, assessing situation and needs
o Liaise with the NHS school nursing team to organise vaccinations and visits
o Administer medicines to pupils as required, ensure accurate and timely recording
o Be passionate about working at The Deanery

The post is covered by the Protection of Children Act and is therefore subject to an enhanced DBS check. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
