Finance Director / HR
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Director with HR expertise to oversee the financial health and human resource functions for our clients dynamic and fast-paced residential development company. The successful candidate will lead all financial operations, including managing company accounts and investments, creating financial forecasts, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. This role requires an individual with a proven track record in financial leadership, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to drive efficiencies in systems, processes, and reporting. A strong understanding of finance, tax, and accounting principles within the residential development industry is essential.
In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for establishing and managing robust financial reporting systems, creating budgets, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. You will work closely with auditing services, external accountants, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and maintain accurate records. Additionally, the role includes overseeing cash flow, payroll, pensions, and other employee benefits while managing expenses and implementing updates to accounting systems to enhance performance. The ability to take ownership of office management functions, including procurement, IT systems, and lease agreements, will be a critical part of your responsibilities.
The role will also include leading the HR function, with responsibilities such as recruitment, onboarding, employee orientation, training programs, and performance reviews. You will foster a positive work environment by implementing policies, conducting disciplinary actions where necessary, and ensuring compliance with safety and welfare regulations. A key aspect of this position will be creating and implementing employee engagement and motivation strategies, organizing team-building events, and supporting professional development initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for addressing employee concerns and communicating internal changes effectively.
The ideal candidate will be an ACA-qualified Chartered Accountant with at least seven years of relevant experience, particularly in entrepreneurial residential development companies. You will possess outstanding mathematical, negotiation, and leadership skills, along with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. As a driven and entrepreneurial professional, you should thrive under pressure and excel in dynamic environments. Proficiency in accounting software, Excel modeling, and cost control tools is required, alongside a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in both financial and HR functions.
