About the Role - Whilst there are skill sets and knowledge we are seeking to enhance on our board, we view personal lived experience as being of equal value. Our services are deeply rooted in the value of lived experience and we would encourage applications from anyone who relates to our mission, regardless of qualifications. We are particularly looking for people with a positive outlook and an ability to take on the role of a critical friend, considering and discussing information and reports, asking questions as appropriate to ensure we deliver on our social mission and business objectives. You will need to be committed, reliable, proactive, community-minded, and culturally aware. Any knowledge or skills regarding financial management, funding, marketing, Public Relations, Public sector or third sector would be an advantage. Some knowledge regarding non-profit governance and the challenges faced by young people would be desirable but not essential. This role is voluntary and aside from our quarterly board meetings, we would like directors to be involved approx 1 hour per week as a commitment to VIBE.
Responsibilities - As part of our board, you will support and help shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to change the lives of individuals who have been systematically overlooked, underserved, and underestimated. This is a vital role, helping ensure we can continue our support for children, young people, and their families. As a voluntary non-executive director, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression of VIBE.
Preferred Skills - Any knowledge or skills regarding financial management, funding, marketing, Public Relations, Public sector or third sector would be an advantage. Some knowledge regarding non-profit governance and the challenges faced by young people would be desirable but not essential.
