About the role
As a Help Desk Operator at the University of Leicester, you will be the first point of contact for ECS Service, assisting students and staff with a range of access, car park and maintenance requests.
Your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* troubleshooting hardware
* software and network problems
* managing support requests, providing clear and friendly assistance
* maintaining documentation, and working closely with team members to ensure smooth operations
The ideal candidate will have strong communication abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our access, car parking and maintenance systems and supporting the university community.
Working hours are Monday to Friday between 8am – 8pm, with some additional occasions up until 10pm.
About you
We’re looking for a Help Desk Operator who excels in access control, customer service, and maintenance reporting.
Access Control: You’ll manage and support user access to various buildings, ensuring that permissions are set correctly and securely. Your attention to detail will help prevent unauthorized access and maintain the integrity of our security infrastructure.
Customer Service: Your top-notch communication skills and friendly approach will make you a go-to resource for staff and students seeking assistance. You’ll handle queries with patience and professionalism, providing clear solutions to their issues.
Maintenance Reports: You’ll be responsible for logging and following up on maintenance reports, identifying recurring issues, and ensuring that all maintenance faults are logged accurately. Your skills will help us improve our services and prevent future issues.
