The role
The consultancy are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant with clinical procurement expertise, gained specifically within the NHS or private healthcare sector. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact clinical procurement projects, focusing on delivering proactive, innovative savings and solutions for complex procurement needs.
Senior Clinical Procurement Specialist, Key Responsibilities:
* Clinical Procurement Expertise: Lead projects focused on clinical procurement within the NHS (preferred) or private healthcare, driving impactful savings and procurement transformations.
* Proactive Savings Identification: Demonstrate a strong track record of identifying and delivering savings through creative solutions (e.g., identifying cost reductions through material substitutions or process improvements).
* End-to-End Delivery: Not just process management—take ownership of the full procurement lifecycle, from identifying opportunities to delivering cost-saving outcomes.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and suppliers, delivering results that align with business objectives and procurement strategies.
* Diverse Projects: Work across multiple clinical categories and procurement functions, including category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
What We’re Looking For in a Senior Clinical Procurement Specialist:
* Clinical Experience: Extensive clinical procurement experience, with a preference for candidates with NHS experience. Private healthcare experience will also be considered.
* Outsourced Clinical Services: Experience working with outsourced clinical services is a significant advantage.
* Proven Savings Delivery: A demonstrable track record of identifying, negotiating, and delivering proactive savings in clinical procurement (e.g., material, service, or process improvements).
* Hands-On Problem Solving: A proactive approach to finding and implementing innovative cost-saving solutions—not just running procurement processes.
* Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to manage stakeholder relationships and deliver successful negotiations.
* Qualifications: MCIPS or relevant business qualification is preferred.
* Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel for client engagements, this will be expensed.
