Role: Careers Advisor (NCS contract)
Reports to: Delivery Manager
Salary: £28,000 - £31,250 (IAG qualified) £24,500 - £27,250 (unqualified)
Location: Northamptonshire, with travel on average 3 times a week across this patch.
JOB SUMMARY:
We are recruiting for a Careers Advisor to work as part of the Northamptonshire team, providing careers information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to our customers in various organisations and locations throughout the county.
Through seeking out local labour market information, this role will provide customers with local awareness of opportunities and trends. The successful candidate will promote the service with local partners and organisations to build referrals coming through our service. Flexibility, creativity, and the desire to succeed in a target-driven environment are key to success in this role.
The key objectives:
1. To deliver individual targets relating to both volumes and quality in line with contract compliance, including tracking and monitoring the progress of customers/clients into learning and employment.
2. Delivering group information sessions to adults which:
* Complement the DWP's employability and skills agenda.
* Add value to educational courses within colleges and training providers.
* Support the ambition of employers to develop and upskill their workforce.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with key partners and stakeholders e.g., Jobcentre Plus, education and training establishments, charities, and community organisations, to raise the profile of the National Careers Service and the company.
* Establishing and maintaining links with local employers for the purpose of identifying sustained employment outcomes.
* Engaging in outreach activities to extend the service to customers who may not ordinarily engage with the National Careers Service through our partners.
* Maintaining accurate records using the Touchpoint database to support caseload management of customers.
* Engaging in quality improvement processes and maintaining quality standards appropriate to the post, working within the requirements specified by the Department for Education (DfE), Ofsted, and Matrix.
* Gathering customer feedback through a variety of channels.
* Flexibility to work across other contracts and areas, as and when required.
* Actively contributing ideas to the company leading to new delivery opportunities.
