Working with a leading engineering consultancy, NRL are looking for a CDM Regulations Advisor to work on a permanent basis based out of Gloucester. This role is to work on the Hinkley Point C project.
The Role:
We are seeking a CDM Advisor ideally with some knowledge of Designer and Principal Designer responsibilities covering one or more of the Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Civil and/or Marine disciplines to support the project based in the Client’s Gloucester office as part of the Nuclear Services organisation. Key responsibilities will be:
1. Safety in design and construction site safety requirements, CDM requirements and the duties of Principal Designer.
2. Demonstrable knowledge of Engineering Design, Hazard Identification and Management
3. Knowledge of the CDM key safety risks (services, temporary structures, Loads on Structures, working at height, lifting, excavations, tunnels, hazardous materials etc.) all within a complex, major construction project.
4. Understanding of and ability to apply quality assurance and control techniques to meet defined requirements on the construction or operating site.
5. Knowledge and skills to undertake quality control and inspection activities and non-conformance mitigation for site works.
6. Knowledge of the delivery work pack concept and the needs for Construction PCI.
7. Understanding and skills to apply management system tools, techniques and standards to develop an effective integrated hazard management system and to promote business improvement.
8. Experience identifying and applying the appropriate Company policy, process or procedure at work.
You will need:
9. Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering, construction, quality or safety discipline.
10. NEBOSH Certificate, or higher, in Occupational Safety and Health
11. Experience in some or all of the criteria in the description above
12. Knowledge of the construction industry.
13. Influencing a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly those in a design environment.
14. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, be pro-active, report on and escalate relevant issues.
