Are you a qualified critical care nurse with strong leadership potential who would like to be part of the trust's critical care senior nursing team?
The trust has 28 beds - combined level 3 (ICU) and level 2 (HDU). We care for a wide range of adult critically ill medical and surgical emergency and elective cases. The units have an excellent nursing skill mix where you will have the opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
We have a fully comprehensive career pathway offering induction, preceptorship, and critical care qualifications as well as advanced clinical skills and leadership opportunities for experienced staff. We have a critical care nurse consultant and clinical nurse educators to support you, and there are many opportunities to be involved in service improvement and research projects.
Main Duties of the Job
The main duties include:
1. Coordinator/shift leader focusing on patient care
2. Staff allocation/staff scheduling
3. Communicating with the MDT
4. Ensuring quality standards are met in line with GPICS and ICS
5. Overseeing the smooth running of the unit, including admissions/discharges
6. Monitoring complex medical situations and coordinating necessary interventions with the MDT

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive critical care knowledge & skills (mechanical ventilation, CVVH/CITRATE, haemodynamic monitoring)
* Evidence of learning and development in line with NMC requirements
* Up-to-date knowledge of professional issues
* Experience of working in a supervisory role
* Evidence of management skills
* Completion of leadership/management programme
Qualifications and Training
* RN adult with current NMC registration
* Bachelor's degree in nursing/health or equivalent academic credits
* Completion of specialist academic Critical Care modules or equivalent
* Comprehensive competency framework documented
* Mentoring & assessing qualification or equivalent
Personal Attributes & Skills
* Demonstrate positive verbal and written communication skills with multi-disciplinary team, clients, and relatives
* Provide evidence of encouraging a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
