Pertemps Bristol Industrial are currently recruiting for a Design Team Lead Engineer for one of our clients based in BS21.Monday to Friday38.5hrs per week£55,000 per annumPermanentJob Details:Design, development and support of power and control circuits, both digital and analogTeam leadSprint project planning with daily stand-ups for the Design teamCommunicating design strategies to assist with product development and goalsPrepares and presents proposals and solutions to other members of the Design team and project stakeholders at design reviewsProvide technical support, know how and guidance to the Design teamTraining and development plans for team membersNew product implementation as part of the Design TeamResearch of electronics and power circuitsUnderstand product requirements and implementation of these in the product and application, whilst understanding commercial and business requirementsFollow departmental processes relating to management of designs and also the company-wide new product development processes.Working through product life cycle, from schematic, layout, proof of concept, supply chain, tests, approvals to product deliveryProvide expertise on the customer application to guide the design process.Collaborate with and support leading experts and academics in the company Knowledge Transfer PartnershipsSupport of existing products, understanding life cycle and MTBF, managing hardware/firmware issueswhilst involves working closely with the customer(internal or external)Apply problem solving techniquesProjects may require interfacing with third party products and dealing directly with sub-contractor design teams.Overseeing development of firmware and software for the existing and next generation of charge controls, actively applying newer technologies and frameworks to futureproof solutions and internal capabilityUse logic and mathematical modelling approach for product simulationDeliver against quality standards throughout the application, process and product deliveryEnsure all relevant safety regulations are metin design activities/areas, including actively reporting near misses.Attends training as required, develop skills and knowledge keeping up to date with latest technology.Work with Design and project teams for project planningProvide technical training on new products to all key departments, e.g. Service, System Test, Production, Engineering and Sales.Requirements:Degree in Power Electronics, Embedded Electronics, Embedded Systems or equivalent
Experienced in hardware system design
Schematic and PCB layout (OrCad).
Use of electrical test equipment such as PSUs, Load banks, DMM/DVM, oscilloscope/analysers, signal/function generators.
Creative and methodical approach to design and test.
Analytical approach to fault finding.
Use of software IDEs, development boards and emulators to assist with embedded programming an advantage.
Microsoft Office products including Outlook, OneNote, Word, Excel and Teams/SharePoint.
Agile management, including JIRA, would be an advantage
