A strategic role that combines leadership, technical expertise, and process improvement. Your Mission In this key position, you will take charge of managing all technical aspects of existing product lines, while driving future developments and product launches. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the design and technical documentation, ensuring they align with company standards, and working with various departments to bring new products to life. As the Technical Manager, youll be leading a small team of design engineers and acting as a mentor to ensure deadlines are met and quality is maintained throughout the design process. Youll also play a vital role in supporting the procurement and costing activities, providing value-engineered solutions where needed. Your expertise in SOLIDWORKS and DriveWorks will be crucial in automating and optimizing workflows to streamline production and enhance efficiency. Your Role Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be required to manage all Design/Technical information in relation to existing product ranges, alongside championing future products developments and launches Daily management of Design Engineers within the business, providing help and guidance on achieving specific project goals and deadlines. Attain detailed knowledge of relevant test schemes and utilize this to facilitate planning, preparation, and execution of product test programs to achieve expansion of the companys certified product ranges. Supervise internal company systems and processes. Including management/deployment of company software such as 2D & 3D CAD packages; Draftsight, SolidWorks & DriveWorks. Maintain accurate records of work created to support document quality control procedures. Participate in company meetings to effectively liaise with alternative areas of the business, facilitating co-department progression. Responsibility to have an active involvement with existing and prospective suppliers and take responsibility for negotiation and material purchasing when required. Organise and plan own work in a time effective manner, according to priority of the company needs and Co-ordinate with production teams to ensure design briefs are met and delivered through to the manufacturing stage. Working Hours Monday to Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM 37.5 hours per week What we are looking for Experienced user of SOLIDWORKS 3D & 2D CAD software (SolidWorks Sheet Metal preferable). Experienced user of DriveWorks Administrator software, with confidence in delivering product configuration products to bespoke product specifications. Good IT skills and understanding of formulaic language for more complex MS Excel based tasks. CAM experience of laser-cutting and brake press machinery is advantageous. Professional communicator who takes pride in representing the business in client/supplier meetings as well as Industry events. Production/Fabrication experience advantageous. How to Apply?
