Our charity is very much volunteer and community led. Many volunteers have the time and availability to work on projects. However, most lack project management experience which decreases project effectiveness and reduces our ability to engage with our stakeholders. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects are successful in achieving maximum impact within our community. By doing this you can support us in providing life changing services for disadvantaged women & families living in Wolverhampton.
What are we looking for?
1. Project Management Experience required to:
1. Develop and implement operational plans for your area of responsibility.
2. Allocate and monitor the progress and quality of work in your area of responsibility.
3. Provide leadership in your area of responsibility - Lead your team.
4. Establish information management and communication systems.
5. Receive, analyse, process and store information.
6. Establish, maintain and use relationships with the media to explain and promote the organisation and its work.
7. Promote your organisation and its services to stakeholders.
8. Prepare reports and returns.
9. Manage finance for your area of responsibility.
10. Identify and evaluate opportunities for innovation and improvement.
11. Ensure health and safety requirements are met in your area of responsibility.
2. Volunteer Management Experience needed to:
1. Coordinate the implementation of WFRC’s volunteering policy.
2. Contribute to the recruitment and placement of volunteers for your team.
3. Plan, organise and monitor the work of volunteers.
4. Lead and motivate volunteers.
5. Plan, organise and support team meetings.
What will you be doing?
At WFRC, we achieve our aims and objectives through the provision of various community projects. The project coordinator will be assigned to a project that matches their interests, experience and capability. They will then lead a team of volunteers in the planning, delivery and monitoring of the project. Main duties will include:
1. To develop and coordinate the implementation and delivery plans for a chosen WFRC community project.
2. To coordinate a program of targeted tasks and activities as identified.
3. To develop a diverse range of community referral pathways.
4. To develop projects in response to the views and life experiences of service-users.
5. To coordinate the recruitment & training required for all project volunteers.
6. To identify and collaborate with current and potential stakeholders to ensure a multi-agency approach.
7. To contribute to budget planning for the project and manage allocated budget.
8. To produce regular project and financial reports as requested.
Volunteer Management
1. To supervise, performance manage, appraise and support the professional development of project volunteers.
2. To communicate regularly with volunteers via phone, emails, and other means of communication.
3. To manage and authorize project volunteer expenses.
4. To recognize and appreciate volunteers’ efforts.
Service User Engagement
1. Coordinate the recruitment of project participants.
2. Act as the main point of contact for participants, maintaining regular contact throughout project delivery.
3. Support the ongoing engagement and participation of service users in practical ways.
4. Provide forums or sessions to listen to, support and encourage service user participation.
5. Disseminate information to participants before, during and after projects.
Evaluation, Monitoring & Performance
1. To set up monitoring and evaluation systems and ensure volunteer compliance.
2. To oversee and coordinate data collection at baseline and follow-up.
3. To produce quarterly and ad hoc performance reports.
