The Post:
Malorees Infant & Junior Schools are seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Nurse/Practitioner to work under the guidance of the Class Teacher, Phase Leader, Inclusion Team, and Senior Leadership Team; to provide quality childcare and education, ensuring all children's needs are met.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Participate in curriculum planning and evaluation, contributing ideas to plans and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Prepare the learning environment and assist in organizing classroom resources.
* Take responsibility for a group of children during various activities under the direction of the class teacher.
* Support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) by implementing IEPs set by professionals.
* Accompany children on outdoor activities such as educational visits.
* Encourage children's development, independence, self-reliance, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
* Observe children's activities and contribute to their written records.
* Work in a non-discriminatory manner, ensuring all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities.
* Maintain respectful and genuine interactions with children using appropriate communication strategies.
* Support and involve parents, recognizing their knowledge of their children.
* Attend to sick or injured children, applying First Aid as needed, and record accidents.
* Attend to children requiring intimate care (e.g., changing nappies).
* Follow Health and Safety guidelines when moving and handling children.
* Provide a stimulating curriculum that promotes emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development.
* Comply with all school policies and procedures.
* Assist in child protection issues and liaise with parents and outside agencies.
* Undertake other duties as required by the school.
* Lead the class in the absence of the class teacher, both short and long term.
