GS-Hydro is a worldwide group recently celebrating its 50th anniversary. While our work mostly covers hydraulic systems, we work with a wide variety of systems, materials and sizes depending on each project's requirements. In time, the work will cover the UK working / aboard working and offshore working.
Due to increased business, GS-Hydro UK Ltd are actively seeking new candidates in performing mechanical manufacturing engineering operations through both hands-on and in-house training.
Responsibilities:
The duties included within this role, but not limited to, are as below:
1. You will have the opportunity to learn how to fabricate pipe spools using manual or hydraulically operated equipment and understand the safety protocols associated with it.
2. Assist with the building of units/installation of correct piping techniques and different connection types available.
3. In time, be able to read, understand and produce technical drawings & piping schematics.
4. Be trained in the maintenance and inspection of our workshop / offshore machine fleet.
5. Learn about flushing and pressure testing of pipework/hoses within the workshop.
6. The position will in time include working on-site either in the UK, abroad or offshore depending upon the requirements.
7. Weekend working is required at times, both in the workshop and onsite.
8. Have good communication skills and a good understanding of Health & Safety requirements through industry.
9. A full UK driving licence is advantageous.
10. Forklift truck licence would be advantageous, however, can be provided through training.
11. Be reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
12. Comfortable working outside in all elements of weather when required.
13. Have a professional attitude.

1. Aberdeen
2. Sunderland
3. Ossett
What you will experience?
You will develop the knowledge needed to use technological principles to solve engineering problems and generate innovative solutions to piping / fluid transfer issues. Working both locally within the business units noted under 'Geographies', and in time, out in the field covering a combination of land-based engineering projects, and offshore work scopes, as an individual or as part of a team. You will also develop essential core skills in communication, numeracy, IT, problem-solving, and teamwork.
