Job Description
This is a part-time role (30 hours per week, term time only) with flexibility to suit the availability of the postholder and Trust requirements. Attendance at governance meetings is an essential requirement of the role, usually involving at least 6 evening meetings per half term, which typically finish by 7pm.
The successful candidate will be based in Harrogate and support schools in the Harrogate and Keighley areas. You must be willing and have the means to travel to meetings at each school (usually once per school, per half term). There is flexibility on hybrid working for the right candidate.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Corporate Affairs team in a thriving multi-academy trust. Northern Star Academies Trust is looking for a dedicated Governance Officer to provide exceptional support across our Trust Partnership. In this vital role, you will work closely with governors, headteachers, and Trust colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of governance services. Key responsibilities include:
1. Preparing and managing Local Governing Body (LGB) meetings
2. Providing advice and support to governors
3. Overseeing policy management and GDPR processes
4. Ensuring compliance across school websites
5. Designing and developing governance processes to provide impactful and efficient strategic, statutory, and operational support
