As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (working 5 from 6 back shifts covering Mon-Sat, on a roster = x2 Saturdays worked a month on roster, standard hours 4.30pm – 12.30am) for this Lincolnshire based Wood Biomass Processing business, you will successfully work within a manufacturing environment, turning UK sourced untreated & clean virgin wood chip (fine grinding, milling & drying of wood chips) into wood pellets for use as fuel, animal bedding & cat litter, helping the UK to significantly reduce landfill waste & promoting a sustainable future, producing a valuable renewable alternative to finite fossil fuels.
You will be an experienced Multi Skilled Engineering professional, with both Mechanical & Electrical skills, ideally gained from within a Waste Recycling / Renewable Energy sector (Wood Biomass, Coal, CCGT, CHP or Nuclear plants, or another form of Power Generation / COMAH site) with a strong understanding of Waste Recycling, or Renewable Energy plant processes & all associated Waste / Power Generation machinery (Heavy Machinery / Heavy Equipment).
Your Heavy Machinery experience will ideally include exposure to conveyors, chipping lines, wet milling lines, dryers, feeding lines, cooling & screening lines, pelleting / pelletising lines, separators, bagging lines (Vertical Bagging, Form & Fill Bagging Machines), Silos, Oxidisers, Gasification, Boilers & Steam generation systems, Turbines, Generators, Hammer Mills, plus HV & MW electrical skills.
Engineers Duties:
1. Carrying out M&E related PPM, fault finding, emergency repairs, breakdowns, project works, machinery / plant installations, commissioning new machinery & decommission of old unwanted machinery.
2. Carrying out Facilities Maintenance where needed i.e. the Fabric of the Buildings etc.
3. Liaising with & working with 3rd party sub-contractors when needed.
4. Advising the Site Management teams on new machinery / CI / LEAN measures.
5. Advising the SMT on how to achieve the best output levels (Energy / RHI).
6. General maintenance support across the whole site & whole plant operation.
7. Turning technical drawings & technical diagrams into reality.
Engineers Attributes:
1. HNC/HND/Degree in an engineering discipline &/or time served in a Multi Skilled post.
2. Skilled in both Mechanical & Electrical disciplines (LV, HV, MW).
3. You will be from some form of Power Generation Energy background, ideally from; Biomass, Waste, Coal, CCGT, CHP or Nuclear plants, but ideally from Biomass.
4. Knowledge of Biomass Energy conversion (waste to power).
5. 17th or 18th Edition wiring & installation certification.
6. NEBOSH & IOSH would be an advantage, not a must.
7. Knowledge, or Qualifications within COTC or WAMITAB would be ideal.
8. Some Welding & Fabrication skills would be ideal.
