This is a wonderful role working across West Sussex delivering comprehensive training, advice and guidance, including risk assessments, to stakeholders in the Adults and Children’s Services and other relevant organisations. There is also the ability to hybrid work with working from home some days.
The protection of staff and customers from manual handling / musculoskeletal injuries is a key priority for the Moving and Handling Team, and a specific responsibility for the Senior Moving and Handling Advisor.
This role is all about being the expert clinical advisor on best practice in the moving and handling of people. You’ll participate at a senior level as a member of the team, including providing comprehensive training programmes, expert advice, and guidance regarding the moving and handling of people with disabilities and / or complex health needs, and for those involved in their care.
The Senior Moving and Handling Advisor. will be responsible for the effective monitoring and evaluation of moving and handling services, including the development and delivery of moving and handling training, principally with customers and care support staff in Adults’
Services and Children’s Services. You’ll be actively involved in identified specialist areas (e.g. plus size, children), providing clinical support and service development.
This will be a physical role, and you’ll need to be able to provide practical demonstrations and use of equipment, techniques and processes in training sessions and with customers. You’ll need to be a car driver to travel independently to customer’s homes and establishments, including transporting equipment where necessary.

Qualifications & Memberships:
• Appropriate professional clinical qualification (e.g. Occupational Therapist, Paramedic or Physiotherapist registered with the Health & Care Professions Council, or Registered Nurse).
• Recognised Moving and Handling certificate.
• Membership of relevant professional body.
• Membership of the National Back Exchange (Desirable)
