Overview
Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for Electricians on behalf of a well-known specialist provider of mechanical and electrical engineering services.
Established over 100 years, they have a team of almost 250 members of staff working for them across multiple offices in the UK.
The main sectors they work in are retail, commercial, healthcare, and leisure. They have a large portfolio of clients including Local Councils, Universities, Hilton hotels, Wagamama, Lidl, Next, etc.
As the Electrician, you will join the service and maintenance team working mainly on retail sites. You will be responsible for carrying out all areas of electrical installation, compliance, maintenance, and remedial tasks. Fire alarm service and maintenance works are required for this position. Fire alarm training is provided within their onsite training centre to the successful candidate.
This is a permanent position paying £38.5k – £40.5k per annum depending on experience. Private use of the van is allowed. Paid door-to-door travel. Plenty of overtime and weekend work available. Overtime is paid at time and a half Monday – Saturday and double time on a Sunday. 23 days annual leave increasing to 26. Bank holidays are additional. The call-out rota is 1 in 6 and receives a £100 standby fee and again paid door to door if called out. Training and Development courses. Pension.
The Door to Door travel is a good perk. Most companies only pay travel time after 30 minutes each way, which is an extra 5 hours a week unpaid, whereas this company pays door to door. This works out at 45 hours x £18.50 – £19.50 per hour x 52 weeks a year is £43,290 – £45,630 BASIC before overtime and callout etc.
