As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll show demonstrable experience working in a modern ITIL-based IT service organisation, ability to collaborate effectively, and experience of managing a complex, national multi-site infrastructure. You'll be an analytical thinker, with experience of using data to drive action and a good understanding of healthcare engineering.
In this Infrastructure Engineer role, you will work as part of a dedicated project team to deliver a defined business outcome. You will be deployed to provide networking expertise to support the implementation of a new health Care Imaging Platform.
This is a pivotal role in delivering robust, secure, and compliant healthcare solutions.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Working side-by-side with the Architect and hosting engineer, to take the high-level solution design, and create a low-level design for the networking element of the solution.
* Supporting the deployment of healthcare systems by implementing the required networking solution, in line with our wider standards.
* Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving networking issues to ensure high availability and performance.
* Ensure technical complexity is managed and documented, to make sure work is easily maintained and reusable, and the appropriate standards, methods and tools are applied appropriately.
* Integrate and collaborate with existing Network/Infrastructure specialists and support the Project objective of your role.
* Collaborate with internal project managers and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with project goals and business requirements.
* Work closely with healthcare third parties to integrate and support system interoperability and compliance with industry standards.
* Ensure adherence to security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements within the healthcare sector.
* Document infrastructure, workflows, and processes to maintain operational excellence.
The key requirements for the Infrastructure Engineer role include:
* Be an expert within the LAN, WAN, Wireless and Firewall technologies including:
* Palo Alto Next Gen Firewalls - build, policy, troubleshooting, Panorama, templates and device groups
* Layer 2 Cisco Switch including network access control.
* Solarwinds (or equivalent) monitoring including NCM and NPM
* SD-WAN Technologies including Aruba or Silver Peak
* Experienced in performance optimisation, actively collecting data to resolve issues and improve the experience
* Experienced in designing, implementing, documenting, testing, administering, and supporting network infrastructure
* Excellent infrastructure management, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
