We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our Community Safety Team as a Community Protection Officer.
You will be responsible for investigating cases of anti-social behaviour, noise and statutory nuisance. We are looking for individuals with experience in case management, enforcement, strong problem-solving skills, and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
As a professional officer, you will take appropriate and proportionate enforcement action in accordance with relevant legislative provisions and contribute towards the Council's objective for a Safer Ashfield. You will work closely with other departments and agencies such as the Police to resolve issues ranging from neighbour disputes to fly tipping.
You will be required to work a shift pattern that includes evenings and weekends, carrying out both reactive and proactive visits, and will be seen as a front-line uniformed officer representing the Council.
Successful candidates will have strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-centred, methodical approach to investigation procedures and problem solving. You will be able to conduct high visibility foot patrols and have an awareness of personal safety precautions.
You will need a minimum of a Level 2 qualification or hold substantial experience in a relevant field and will require a full driving licence.
The successful post holder will be required to undertake and pass Police Vetting Level 2.
