Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist

Salary: £35,360 - £40,588 per annum
Are you an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to grow and develop? If so, join our client, a low and medium secure service for male patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) who benefit from extended treatment and rehabilitation. They also offer a 28-bed male acute service in a separate purpose-built environment.
You will be instrumental in promoting health and independence by delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions, along with providing clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team.
You will demonstrate highly specialist expertise and skills in areas such as occupational engagement, environmental adaptation, and the development and maintenance of skills needed for meaningful participation.
You will also have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned with care plans.

Your responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist will include:
1. Communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, people who access services, carers/supporters/family members, stakeholders, and agencies
2. Providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff, including support staff and assistants
3. Ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements
4. Supporting the completion of appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff
5. Developing and implementing appropriate policies, protocols, and care pathways
To be a Successful Occupational Therapist you will need:
1. An Occupational Therapy professional qualification
2. UK HCPC registration
3. Extensive and relevant post-qualification clinical experience within an adult service
4. Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
5. Highly effective clinical reasoning skills
6. Specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models
