Company: Finning (UK) Ltd Number of Openings: 1 Worker Type: Permanent Position Overview: Based at our state-of-the-art UK laboratory in Leeds, our dedicated fluid and condition monitoring services team are experts in analysing, interpreting and providing detailed evaluations for oil, fuel, coolant, diesel exhaust fluid and transformer oil samples from all types of equipment. We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team. Job Description: Are you a meticulous and analytical professional with a passion for laboratory work? Join our team as a Laboratory Technician and contribute to our success by performing detailed analysis on oil, fuel, and coolant samples using a variety of manual and automated techniques. Key Responsibilities: Sample Analysis: Perform analyses on batches of oil, fuel, and coolant samples using techniques such as wet chemistry, GC, FTIR, ICP-OES, XRF, KF, autotitrators, automated liquid handling equipment, and particle counters. Sample Preparation: Sort and prepare samples into batches, ensuring strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Process Improvement: Investigate and implement new laboratory process improvements as directed by the Analytical Services Supervisor. Data Management: Accurately enter sample data and results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). SOP Management: Write and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standards as assigned by the Supervisor. Skills and Qualifications: Relevant industrial laboratory experience or qualified to at least HNC/HND level in a scientific discipline. Strong analytical skills with experience in various laboratory techniques and equipment. Deep understanding of GLP, COSHH & Laboratory H&S practices. Excellent attention to detail and adherence to SOPs. Strong people skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
